Today is considered a very lucky day to get married in China. That's because it is the 8th day of the 8th month in 2008 and eight is considered the luckiest number. Also, the date coincides with the first day of the Olympics in Beijing.

Naomi has been dating a Russian billionaire for a few weeks now and the rumor is that a wedding engagement is imminent.

Naomi Campbell, age 38, and the very handsome Russian property tycoon, Vladislav Doronin, age 46, met at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Here they are at St Tropez aboard Vlad's luxury yacht. Friends are saying it was love at first sight for both of them.

It's just been announced that Mariah Carey chose a relatively unknown fashion designer - Nile Cmylo - to create her off-white wedding dress.

According to Style.com Nile Cmylo "is mainly known for her tailoring—she was the magic needle behind Pat Field's costuming on Sex and the City and more recently she did the model fittings for Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. show in New York—but her custom-made gowns are beginning to get attention (she's also made frocks for another curvy songstress, Jennifer Lopez). Keep your eye on this behind-the-seams talent."

There does not seem to be a website for Nile Cmylo but if anyone knows where we can see some examples of Cmylo creations, please let us know. In the meantime, here's an unrelated image of The Runaway Bride.

Mariah Carey loves her new husband so much that she now has a "Mrs. Cannon" tattoo permanently engraved on her back. Carey, age 38, met Nick Cannon, age 27, just a few short months ago, just after he (split up with Selita Ebanks) and was hired to act as Carey's boyfriend on the set of her video for the song "Bye Bye". It was love at first sight and they are soul mates. They want to have babies together soon.

Cecilia Sarkozy Marries in New York

Cecilia Sarkozy, age 50, is marrying for the third time. Her new husband is millionaire Richard Attias, age 48. Attias is a public relations executive in New York.

Cecilia divorced her second husband, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, just a few months ago, but he has already beat her to the altar by marrying model Carla Bruni six weeks ago.

Cecilia had an affair with Richard Attias back in 2005 for a few months. Now she is marrying her lover. It seems a somewhat similar story to where she found herself between her first and second marriages.

Katherine Heigl has sold the exclusive rights to her wedding photos to OK! magazine and they are on the magazine stands today. Here is the beautiful Oscar De La Renta dress Heigl chose for her most special day.

Katherine and her new husband did not live together before the wedding. But they now live in their new house and are hoping to expand their family soon.

It would be interesting to know how much OK! paid to Heigl for the exclusive rights to the wedding pictures. One million dollars would not be an outlandish guess.

OK! magazine has been on a real roll with their exclusive coverage lately. They had their best selling weekly issue ever just recently, with the news of the Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy. Whereas they normally sell about a million magazines, this issue was their record sales at 2 million magazines. The rumor is that Jamie Lynn and her mother were paid $1 million for the exclusive photos and interview.

It's Wedding Fair Time

Most wedding shows take place in January. This is the most popular month for brides to do their wedding planning. Maybe this is because so many weddings take place six months later in June, or maybe because a lot of proposals take place around Christmas and these brides want to start planning and booking as soon as possible.

Here's a promotional video for the Vancouver Wedding Fair 2008 taking place next week on January 5th. Over 10,000 brides and their friends will attend this show and many wedding videographers, photographers, florists, wedding dress retailers and wedding planners will be promoting their services here.

Oscar De la Renta Wedding Dresses 2008

Katherine Heigl got married earlier this week at a private ceremony in Utah with 80 guests. Her wedding took place just a few days before her latest movie is released. The movie, 27 Dresses, is all about weddings and bridesmaid dresses, so it is especially interesting to see what dress Katherine chose for her real life wedding.

We won't have the answer to this until the secret pictures are released in the January 3rd issue of OK! Magazine. All we know so far is she chose an Oscar De La Renta wedding gown. So it is quite possibly one of the beautiful dresses shown in this 2008 Oscar De La Renta Bridal Collection video;

The sneak previews for the movie 27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl are taking place tomorrow, the 27th, in 27 theaters across the U.S.

Check out the incredible wedding dresses made out of toilet paper by several enterprising women who were set on winning a $500 contest. The New York Times wrote an article about this unique competition today and featured a bride who actually got married in a dress made of toilet paper.

Lucy Southworth to Marry Richest Billionaire

Lucy Southworth will be marrying Larry Page on December 9th this year at an undisclosed wedding location. Larry Page is only 34 years old but as co-founder of Google, he already has a net worth of about $20 billion dollars.

They've been dating for over a year. Southworth was a biomedical informatics PhD student at Standford University.

Southworth whose net worth is going northward fast, is a beautiful blonde who doesn't appear to wear much makeup. But she probably eats a lot of folic acid and B vitamins to stay healthy and fertile. Anne Wojcicki married America's most eligible bachelor last week. Sergey Brin, age 33, is a co-founder of Google and the richest young man in the world.

This was no whirlwind romance. They have known each other for several years. Google was started up in Anne's sister's garage.

Wojcicki won't likely be interested in hobnobbing with Hollywood celebrities or San Fran socialites any time soon. She's a biochemist who recently founded her own company. The wedding was very low-profile, only about sixty guests, and involved all the guests swimming to a nearby sandbar in the Bahamas for the actual ceremony. Though the exact location has not been disclosed, the rumor is it took place at Musha Cay, (pictured above) a very exclusive and private resort which is bound to benefit tremendously from all the publicity.

Barry Gibb, age 60, of the Bee Gees was a guest on American Idol last night. Could Barry Gibb be a regular Botox user? His face looks smoother than it did over twenty years ago.

Here's a retro look from way, way back where he sings "Shine, Shine" at a wedding reception in 1984.

His guest appearance on American Idol has done wonders for the sales of Bee Gees CD's this week. Their Their Greatest HitsCD is ranked as the 24th best-selling item in the music section at Amazon today.
