Rich & Skinny Jeans has started a video campaign "Lifestyles of the Rich and Skinny" to entice new customers.

Rich & Skinny Jeans were first launched two years ago. The founders thought jeans needed to be available in more colors and hence they offer their jeans in about 15 different bold colors. The jean pockets and waistlines are lined with silk. And some celebrities apparently do wear them.

Coach Handbags - Who's Buying?

We were curious to find out more about the typical Coach handbag shopper. Google Insight for Search is quite an interesting tool for finding out this type of info.

The chart above shows us the search volume for coach handbags, (the red line) as well as Prada and Chanel bags (orange and blue lines). There are five years of searches shown here, from 2004 to present. You can see that every year there is a big spike in demand in December. Handbag searches are definitely most popular during the holiday season.

You can also see from this graph that at some point in 2005, Chanel handbags became a more popular search than Prada handbags.

And where are the people who are doing the most searches for Coach handbags? According to these stats, the top five cities in the world where people search for Coach handbags are

Doutzen Kroes is the newest model to make the Victoria's Secret supermodel ('angel') ranks. She's from the Netherlands, 23 years old and 5"10 tall.

She's slightly more curvy than typical of models these days and one male designer says that she's the kind of model that most appeals to straight men.

Though she didn't start modeling until she was 18 years old, she is already estimated to be the world's fifth top earning supermodel, with an estimated income of $6 million last year.

An Invisible Cloak

Scientists at the University of California have announced they've developed metamaterials that can make people invisible. Before this, it was already possible to cloak two-dimensional objects, but this is the first demonstration of three-dimensional objects being rendered invisible by artificially engineered materials that redirect light around the objects.

The metamaterials are mixtures of metal and circuit board materials such as ceramic, Teflon or fiber composite. They are designed to bend visible light in a way that ordinary materials don't.

This research is being heavily funded by the US Army. But it may not be long before it filters down to fashion design. Maybe we'll soon be seeing invisibility cloaks at fashion shows.

Crocs High Heels Comfort

Crocs has just released a high heel shoe. It's got a three inch heel and is designed with the same material as in all other croc shoes.

These shoes look like they could be exceptionally comfortable - as far as high heeled shoes are concerned - but to say they will 'spice up any fashionista's wardrobe' may be stretching the subjective truth a bit. We doubt they will even make a dent in the demand for really beautiful sandals such as the Lanvin's shown here. Nevertheless Crocs may have another very big hit on their hands.
