Racehl wants a rhinoplasty and has felt this way for several years. She says her side profile is embarrassing.

She cannot afford plastic surgery and says the nose job would cost about $8,500. She's not working now; she's a graduate student. She feels the rhinoplasty would give her more self-confidence and although she never thought she would ask others for money she feels desperate so she has joined a site called My-Donation where she has put out her request for people to consider contributing to her rhinoplasty fund via PayPal.

Celebrity Noses in the 40's and 50's

In her book Cleopatra's NoseJudith Thurman writes 39 stories about the quest for beauty of one form or another (be it literature, photography, fashion etc.).

One chapter is about the famous photographer of the 1950's - Avedon - and here he mentions that all the most famous models of the day have noses. "Notice they all have noses. The heroic age of the nose has since ended."

Miss Universe 2008 is from Venezuela

Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe 2008 last night in Vietnam. See lots of photos of her in the video below.

Mendoza, age 22, wants to become an interior designer. The crown was passed over to her by last years winner from Japan, Riyo Mori, Miss Universe 2007.

The Aging Nose

Unfortunately not even the nose is immune to aging. As we get older, the nose tends to droop; the dorsum begins to appear convex with a droopy tip.

Did Ashley Dupre get a nose job and breast implants before becoming famous as the hooker employed by Eliot Spitzer?

MakeMeHeal.com believes she had both operations. They say her nose is much smaller now and free of bumps. "The bridge is perfectly arched, and has the round, yet slightly upturned appearance classically associated with a nose job."

They also think she has C-cup size breast implants. And note the Latin tattoo on her belly.

Did Amy Winehouse Get a Nose Job?

A reader wrote us saying she's convinced Amy Winehouse has had a nose job recently and is amazed that no one has noticed. She says;

i've noticed that amy winehouse had a nose job, and i'm really surprised that no one in the world noticed that except me !!!!!!-very very good rhinoplasty, look at her nasal profile now (tip,bridge), then the tip, nostril lenght, bigger eyes.

Thanks for the tip! We tried to find some similar profile pictures that would definitely show some contrast for the before and after. It seems very likely she got a nose job, but quite a while ago. If anyone's got links to better photos that seem to confirm a rhinoplasty please let us know.

Before the Nose Job

Janelle has decided to go forward with a nose job. Her surgery was just 12 hours away when she recorded this "before rhinoplasty" video with her friend. Together they will be documenting the recovery and the longer-term results of the nose job. We'll post updates here when they're available.

Jordan Gets a New Nose and Teeth

It's been a month since Jordan got back to the U.K. after having breast surgery reduction in California. She had her breast size reduced from FF to D. But only now is she letting people know that this wasn't the only cosmetic surgery she had while there. She's now admitting she also had a rhinoplasty operation which completely changed the shape of her nose.

And she's got a whole set of new teeth, having also spent 25,000 British pounds on a flashy new set of veneers while in California.

Update: Jordan says her teeth have been filed down so much for the last set of veneers that she has been in constant excruciating pain for the past six weeks.
