Toxic Makeup

Companies are marketing beauty products to very young girls these days. By the time some girls are ten years old they are using 15 to 20 beauty products a day including shampoo, deodorant, lotions and makeup, not to mention regular use of hair dye and nail polish.

Stacy Malkan is the author of Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry. She tells us that many of these beauty products contain toxins that are very harmful to the healthy development of girls. These toxins may be partially responsible for many girls reaching puberty at 8,9 and 10 years old. Half of all American girls now show signs of puberty by age 10.
