Here's a 'lost' tape of Madonna practicing her first songs 27 years ago. She lived in a basement, was a struggling (usually unemployed) dancer in Manhattan and was spending all her spare time teaching herself to sing and play the guitar.

In this tape, she asks her boyfriend to go for a run first thing in the morning and to stop picking his nose. You also hear her practice her first songs. The tape is interspersed with a speech she made recently that recalled those days in the early 1980's.
