I feel this yummy mommy era is damaging to new mothers. At a time where they need support and comfort most are in complete distress about how to be "perfect". My youngest is 18mth and i still havent got back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Well with 3 other kids and a husband to look after, trivial things like a super flat tummy, the latest designer gear and perfect make-up and hair, dont even get a second thought. I had an aunt say to me 1 day "why dont you go and spend a day at the spa. Get yourself looking semi-normal again. You know that jeans and tank tops dont make you look like a lady." Bearing in mind, on this particular day i was knee deep in sand and water with the kids in the garden. Why when you are a full time mother, would you wan tto go around in heels and skirts??!! Practical clothes to fit what you are doing. Who needs to worry about how their make-up looks when you have a bunch of kids(me included) trowing mud balls at each other.
More important things in life than trying to be a yummy mommy.
