Shania Twain, age 42, and her husband Lange, age 59, are divorcing. His request for divorce was apparently a shock for her and she is 'devastated' according to People Magazine.

Twain was 28 years old when they met in 1993. Lange was already a spectacularly successful music producer, and was looking around for unknown talent to promote when he first heard her music. Within six months of his first phoning Shania's manager, they were married.

Shania Twain had a very difficult childhood. Her parents divorced when she was two years old and her mother remarried but the family was extremely poor. Twain started singing in nightclubs for money before she was even a teenager. She had a few younger siblings and when she was 22 years old her parents died in a tragic accident and she had to support and look after her siblings.

The couple's net worth is now well over a billion dollars. Twain's third album Come on Over is the biggest-selling album of all time by a female musician, and the best-selling album in the history of country music.

They have one six year old son.

The other photo above was taken one year ago. Twain looks fabulous there at age 41. She has been a vegetarian for many years and has adhered to a raw food diet for the last year and a half. She also used to meditate very regularly at one point but it's not clear if she kept that up.

According to Wikipedia one of her beauty tips is applying an ointment known as Bag Balm that is normally applied to cow's udders during the winter months to protect them from very cold weather. Twain says she uses the covering on her legs and all over her face for soft skin.

She looks like she exercises very regularly to keep fit. It's not obvious at all that she's had any kind of plastic surgery. But it does look very likely that she's had several porcelain veneers installed.
