Eyebrow Tattoos

Overplucked eyebrows rarely grow back and as we age our eyebrows get sparser. One solution is to have permanent makeup applied to the brows.

Over-tweezing can be painlessly disguised with subtle color. The procedure is similar to tattooing, but pigment is not deposited as deeply. The results can last 15 to 20 years.

For something this permanent, I'd want to make sure the eyebrow tattoo was being applied by a real expert. Sophia Harvey at Sophia Esthetic is one such pro. On her website she says

If you're using a brow pencil, you'll appreciate the look you get from permanent makeup. Together, we choose the right colour to complement your skin and hair tone; then, I combine up to three shades to create a three-dimensional effect. Using a hair-by-hair feathering technique, I carefully sculpt a brow arch that's in proportion with your facial features. This gives a very natural appearance even to a totally re-created brow. Furthermore, it gives an incredible fullness to a sparse brow.

The treatment costs about $350 to $650.
