Supermodel Naomi Campbell, age 37, is right now resting in a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Yesterday she underwent a four and a half surgery there. Was it some kind of plastic surgery? Brazil is famous for their excellence and expertise in cosmetic surgery but most Americans who chose to go there are doing it partly to save on the medical costs. That wouldn't be Naomi Campbell's concern.

After gossip started circulating on the internet that she was having surgery in Brazil, her agent issued a statement to dispel the rumors and said Campbell was there to have a small cyst removed.

We're not sure how long it takes to have a small cyst removed. But apparently her surgery lasted 4 1/2 hours. The Sirio Libanes hospital where she is staying is renowned for their plastic surgery expertise and provides a detailed list of the plastic surgeries they perform there. They also note the time involved for each operation. An abdominoplasty takes four hours of operating time. Liposuction takes between 3 and 6 hours. Breast implants take four hours and a facelift is approximately 5 hours in the operating room.

Could Naomi have had cosmetic surgery instead of cyst surgery? A lot of gossip sites (us too) will be watching closely for any before/after visual clues.
