They have been around for almost eight years but a few months ago they received $7 million in venture capital financing and the new company is based in New York. Their goal is to build the best technology that lets women try on hair styles, cosmetics and accessories in virtual makeover sessions. They also want to maintain their leadership in color simulation technology.

Until recently they were part of the Glam Publishing Network. But in December they announced a strategic relationship which involves featuring their virtual makeover tool on iVillage for a couple of years and makes iVillage their exclusive sales agent until the end of this year.

It would be interesting to know if they are signing up many subscribers. They charge $29.95 for a one-year unlimited membership. Many young women might find it easy to make an impulsive purchase of $14.95 to have access to these makeover tools for three months.
