It was only a matter of time before the computer companies started using beautiful models to sell their wares. This Dell campaign should get a lot of attention thanks to the presence of supermodel Karolina Kurkova, age 23. Dell is following in the pioneering footsteps of Apple computer, which was the first to hire a supermodel for their computer ads (Gisele Bundchen) last year.
The auto companies have known about the power of the beauty pitch since forever. They've been adorning their car commercials with female beauties since at least the 1950's. Now that supremacy (in terms of market capitalization) is shifting from the 20th century auto/oil industries to the 21st century computer/online media industries, it's no surprise we are starting to see supermodels as computer sales reps.

I tried finding one of those 1950's ads where the woman is leaning into the car in her sleeveless dress and white gloves but no luck yet. If anyone knows of a good source for these vintage ads, please let me know.

thanks for the scoop Robert, was this the photo you meant?
