Plastic surgeons make more money than any other medical specialty. Their annual salaries range from $185,000 to $453,000 according to the Association of American Medical Colleges. But the most popular surgeons in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago make significantly more than this each year.
In contrast to the rich pay for plastic surgeons, general practitioners have seen their pay drop to about $121,000 on average. But plastic surgeons have to spend eight years practicing in residencies, whereas GP's only spend three years.
