A Blepharoplasty Holiday in Prague

Submitted by Meg Wilson on January 9, 2007 - 07:27.

One of my friends is in her early 40's and lives in Holland with her Dutch husband. She recently hinted that when it comes to cosmetic surgery, the one procedure she has seriously considered is an eyelid operation. This is technically known as 'blepharoplasty'. This friend is relatively religious about her beauty regiment. She works out several times a week at an exclusive fitness facilty and her diet is very healthy. She spends a great deal of money on expensive skin products and makeup. The only two lifestyle weaknesses she may have is 1) a propensity to take herself too seriously, and perhaps as medicine for this ailment, 2) a bit too much white wine. (With the latter predilection I'm right there with her, albeit it's red wine for me.)

Anyway, i would guess that she probably won't go ahead with eyelid surgery for a few more years but if she does decide she needs it she may consider going somewhere nearby in Central Europe where the costs are only about one third and the level of expertise and care is the same, if not better. One example of this seems to be the facilities and personnel in Prague. Prague is a beautiful historic city, maybe even more beautiful than Paris. There are several clinics here vying for international clientele and the surgical expertise is excellent.

There are many services that have come online to provide people with a complete 'holiday' package. As one example, check out the service Beauty in Prague. They offer all types of cosmetic surgery at about one third of what it would cost in Western countries. On this site they tell you blepharoplasty (a procedure that removes fat usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids) can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. They also do tell you however, that it won't remove crow's feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows.

If you decide to go forward with their offer, they will provide a complete package to you. They will meet you at the airport, secure beautiful accommodation for you in historic old Prague, arrange your consultation with the surgeon, pick you up for the surgery, take you back to the hotel afterwards and at the end of your stay, bring you back to the airport. The photo you see above is Michaela. She's the one who will meet you at the airport.

They certainly make it convenient for people who are considering having cosmetic surgery far away from home.
