Some women are getting a tummy tuck operation at the same time as they give birth via a C-section. But Dr. Casas, who has done hundreds of tummy tucks for patients, advises against this. She says she wouldn't do the surgery on a new mother until at least six to nine months after a woman gives birth and then only if women have lost the baby pounds and have tried hard to exercise the tummy bulge away on their own.
