Eating foods that are high in dietary fiber is helpful for anyone wanting to pursue an optimal diet. But a high fiber diet is especially recommended for people who are obese.

Aside from helping to fight obesity, a high fiber diet can help anyone who suffers from constipation, hemorrhoids, high blood sugar or high cholesterol levels.

Recommended fiber intake is 25-35 grams a day. The majority of people eat less than half of the recommended fiber daily. See a listing of ten great high-fiber foods in the attached article.
