A recent study has found that women prefer men who are fond of children. This would be no surprise to most people, but what is startling, is that this study found that women could tell just by looking at a man's face if he was fond of children.

This amazing finding has just been published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society. It seems to imply that physiognomy (the study of faces and the belief that the shape of a person's head and the facial characteristics can predict something about character) may not be such an outlandish idea after all. Physiognomy was popular in the 18th and 19th century, but had very much fallen out of favor in the 20th century.
