Stanford Wants In on the Vanity Industry

Cosmetic plastic surgery has been one of the fastest growing areas within the health sector. Spending on cosmetic plastic surgery is up 38% over the past five years and now totals $9.4 billion in the U.S.

Stanford University Hospital wants to take a larger role in cosmetic surgery. This will bring a much needed revenue boost to their medical center in Palo Alto. They are looking to hire more doctors and go beyond their current focus on reconstructive surgery to focus more on nose jobs, breast augmentation and eye lifts.
