Meet Austria Alcantara. She is a stunning sixteen year old model from the Dominican Republic. She's with the IMG modeling agency and will be debuting in the Model.Live video episodes put out jointly by Vogue Magazine and IMG beginning on August 19th.
Austria is 5 feet and 10 and a half inches tall and wears a US shoe size of 10. The Model.Live show is a huge break for her and she will have to adjust to fame at a very early age. See more photos at her portfolio page at IMG.
Vogue magazine is trying something very new. They've created a video series called Model.Live which will debut in August.
Unlike your typical YouTube video production, they've paid incredible money for the 12 eight-minute video episodes. Three million dollars. That works out to over $30,000 for each minute of finished video.
Vogue teamed up with IMG to create this series. And they've found a first sponsor (clothing retailer Express LLC) who payed them just over a million dollars for a guaranteed 83 million views on Bebo.com over three months. We'll all be able to watch the videos on Vogue.TV as well as Veoh.com and hulu.com.
This is going to provide the first big competition for FordModels. FordModels.TV was first out of the gate to produce short video clips and distribute them on YouTube. They are the leading beauty/style channel on YouTube right now. And they have been putting out hundreds of videos at what they say may be less than $200 total production cost per video on YouTube for some time now.

Jourdan Dunn has been selected to model the Topshop fall and winter collection. She'll be the next black model you will see on the cover of Vogue. She's only 17 and was discovered in 2006 when she was in a London shopping mall trying on sunglasses. When she's older and has finished business school, she'd like to start a modeling agency that focuses on non-Caucasian models. She feels the discrimination on the catwalk is very glaringly real. Here's some great tips from Katie Stiles on how to dress if you have big breasts.
Whether it is business, evening or casual wear, it's important that your clothes fit properly. Katie and the incredibly more beautiful than a Jessica Simpson look-alike model show us some tops and outfits that don't work too great and other outfits that look stylish and stunning.
Katie has chosen conservatively with the idea being to minimize the bust and to look classier and more professional. The transformations really brought this out superbly, though I thought the last 'before' (green blouse with big patterns) may be even more beautiful than the 'after' look?

The celebrities are sitting in the front row at the fashion shows in Paris this week. See the Dior and Armani collection in the video below. Eva Mendes, Janet Jackson and Claudia Schiffer are all there looking fab.
It seems the deeper the economy slumps into recession the more audacious are the precious haute couture fashions.
Here's a video showing the Lanvin Fall 2008 collection. Tim Blanks sums it up perfectly as 'severe opulence'. The clothes are stunning, but most of the dresses could only realistically be worn to some very severely fancy cocktail parties.
