Cool Mom and her husband were victims of Bernie Madoff. They didn't invest directly with him, but rather with one of his feeder funds. Now they've lost much of their life's savings. As a result they are moving soon from their grand house to one that will be half the size. Cool Mom can see some of the benefits of a simpler life.
