The Powder and the Glory is a new DVD about the story of how the makeup industry came to be. Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein were both immigrants to America in the early 1900's. At that time, makeup was still only being worn by just actors and prostitutes, but they created an industry that has grown to $150 billion.

They never met, though they lived just blocks from each other in New York but they were bitter rivals. They became two of the wealthiest women in the world.
