How Much Sugar in Your Soda?

In this video, Isabel tells us there are 10 teaspoons of sugar in the typical soda. She measures it out just to show us very vividly how much sugar we are consuming with the average soda. (Unfortunately she uses tablespoons instead of teaspoons, but we still get the point.)

And if you think drinking diet soda is going to help you lose weight, think again. She points out that the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas are toxic to your liver. This means they overwhelm your liver and keep it from functioning properly. With a compromised liver, it's very hard to lose weight.

The first 1.5 minutes of this video is well worth watching. It may really motivate you to stay off the sodas. After that though, she goes into her sales pitch for what you should drink instead. Thanks, but we'll just stick with mostly water or highly diluted cranberry juice.

Filling a jar with the amount of sugar you take in each day can be a powerful visual to help decrease your sugar intake.
