Marie Claire has a great article on how to dress for different professions. They give examples of how to dress for four different careers; real-estate agents, modeling, the art world and finance/banking. (Shown in the photo here, as you probably guessed, are the bankers and financiers).

One warning. The price tags on these designer clothes would require a full month salary or more for just one outfit, so not something realistic here for most women unless they are really excelling in their career and earning mega bucks.
