The boom in cosmetic surgery is helping to enrich many supply companies along the way. As one example, the surgical compression garment industry is experiencing very rapid growth.
There are probably over 200 companies that supply the cosmetic surgery industry with compression garments. One is the Marena Group based in Georgia. Their brand is called ComfortWear and includes everything from bras and girdles to facial wear, vests and post-surgical wear. They sell over 250,000 items per year.
As these compression garments often have to be worn for a full eight week recovery period - including in the shower and overnight - as much comfort as possible is really crucial.
Their garments are made of a proprietary fabric called Comfortweave® and they say this acts like a second skin over the wearer’s healing body. "This moisture-wicking, anti-microbial fabric is designed to help minimize the post-operative patient’s bruising and swelling while at the same time enhancing the comfort of the wearer...ComfortWear garments are designed to allow freedom of movement while providing enough compression to help flush potentially harmful fluid accumulation using the body’s natural processes in the lymph system."
Because of their rapid and attractive growth, companies like this that provide essential garments for cosmetic surgery patients will probably be getting scooped up by the larger apparel or medical device companies soon.
