Angela Bismarchi Wants Her Eyes to Look Japanese

Angela Bismarchi of Brazil is aiming for the world record in the number of cosmetic surgeries she's had. At age 36, she's already had 41 different cosmetic surgeries. Her first, at age 21, was for a breast lift after pregnancy. She's been getting a lot of publicity in Brazil, ahead of the Rio Carnival, as she now wants to have nylon wires implanted under the skin around her eyes to make her eyes look Japanese. She's been married to two cosmetic surgeons and her husband will perform the operation (his eleventh on her). Bismarchi became famous a few years ago by streaking nude at a couple of Rio Carnivals. She's hoping that setting a world record in the Guinness World Records for the highest number of cosmetic surgeries will make her even more famous.

Well, this woman's pursuit of fame is lost on me, I'd never heard of her before reading this post. How about getting famous for helping others? Improving lives and solving serious problems? Guess that's just not fun! Of course, having 41 surgeries doesn't sound too fun to me either. I work with a Lake Forest plastic surgeon, and there are many good reasons for considering Chicago eyelid surgery, besides wanting to look Japanese. People who take surgery seriously and just want their eyes to look as good and as vibrant as they feel often choose this procedure to give their eyes a brighter appearance. It can make a huge difference to a person who's upset with their eye appearance.

I absolutely cannot believe this. Forget the fact that she could be spending her time and money in a lot more productive ways. She looks terrible. Have you checked out her lips? UGH.

I know eyelid surgery is more and more popular, especially with boomers. Working with a plastic surgeon in Southern California, I hear about women--and men--who come to him for San Diego eyelid surgery routinely. But that's surgery to open up their eyes and get rid of drooping skin, not to make them look Japanese. Good grief. Someone stop this woman.
