An independent investigation in Britain has found that some cosmetic surgery clinics are using hard-sell techniques to pressure patients into risky procedures without proper medical advice. They offer time-limited special offers, two-for-one deals and give exaggerated claims about surgery results. See more about this here.

It's one thing to get pressured into buying cosmetics, talked into getting more done at the hairdresser than you had planned and so on. But the thought of medical practices putting the cosmetic surgery hard sell on prospective patients is really awful. Talk about preying on people's hopes and dreams...

As a writer, I work with many plastic surgeons. Most are very well trained, board certified, and cautious. One I work with, who performs procedures in the San Francisco Bay Area like San Ramon abdominoplasty , says it's not unusual for him to send a patient home for a waiting period to make sure a given procedure is the right choice for them. Not only that, several times he has advised a patient not to have surgery to safeguard their health.

Anyone considering plastic surgery, no matter their age, should consider having a physical first. At very least, a few basic test are in order to make sure you're in good physical shape. Then, if you feel any pressure at all from a doctor or their staff to move forward, run as fast as you can. There are plenty of surgeons out there who will care more for your health and safety than that.
