Sisterlocks is a hairstyle for African American women who are looking for a sleeker alternative to traditional locks. Whereas chemicals can destroy the hair, weaves can break it and braids installed too tightly can lead to problems, the sisterlocks alternative is a natural albeit expensive alternative.

It usually costs over $500 to sit for two eight hour sessions to install the locks and upkeep to re tighten the locks will set you back another $100 every six to eight weeks.
