Searches for Cosmetic Procedures Vary

Ever wonder in what cities people were most likely to search the web for terms such as Botox, breast implants, wrinkles, weight loss and face lifts?

Google has a good tool for this. They show the highest concentration of searches for any term by city. The population of the city is not so relevant as the results are 'normalized'. It is the frequency of the search term compared to all other search terms in that city that determines the results.

Botox:

Hi Adriana,

Did you see the Forbes article recently about the most vain cities in America, according to the number of cosmetic/plastic surgery procedures performed per 100,000 residents (i think that was how they based their rankings). Salt Lake City was number one... I think San Fran was number two. Interesting because although I now work with Columbus cosmetic surgery recovery suites in Ohio, I used to live and work in LA, and I would've bet the farm that Los Angeles would've topped the list for most vain.

thanks I saw that. But i think the numbers were skewed for Salt Lake City and possibly San Fran too because they were counting number of surgeons per 100,000 population and Salt Lake City has a big medical training focus for cosmetic surgeons who then move on to other parts of the country.
