Miss Puerto Rico Universe Ingrid Marie Rivera said that someone had put pepper spray into her pageant gown to try to keep her from winning the competition. She has received an enormous amount of sympathetic press as a result of this story. But now police are looking into the possibility that she was lying. Their forensic tests found no trace of pepper spray on her clothing or makeup.

Update December 18th: Miss Puerto Rico was not lying. Her pepper spray story is true. " The Miss Puerto Rico pepper-spray case took yet another drastic turn Wednesday with police now saying the beauty queen did in fact have her gown sprayed as she has claimed."
