Kathleen is 44 years old. She has decided to stop coloring her hair. She shows us many photos of the first stage, where her gray hair is now starting to show.
Here's what she says on her site;
GROWING OLDER GRACEFULLY PROJECT!
TODAY I STOPPED COLORING MY HAIR!
OKAY MY PEEPS!
This is me taking back my freedom & my right as a woman to grow older gracefully, beautifully, proudly, liberatingly, and respectfully. I want to say, "Thank you God for exactly the way You made me. Your design of growing me older is beautiful. Breathtaking actually, and more than good enough!
Graying and white hair is a crowning glory given by You in honor of accumulated wisdom & experience, and I am so blessed to wear it."
I cut my hair today to expedite the growing out (dye) process. You will notice graying spots in some of the photos; in the parts and around the ears.
This is the first slide in a series of 3 that I plan to display. I will add an intermediate stage, and a final stage. It's my aim to remain beautiful, sexy, and in good shape at all 3 stages and to put to rest the lie that women over the age of 40 need to dye their hair in order to still be attractive.
The unrelated poster above is "Woman With Red Hair" by Amedeo Modigliani.
