Smart Lipo: A Personal Story

Submitted by Adriana Rae on October 16, 2007 - 20:56.

A reader commented about her personal experience with SmartLipo. She said;

I had the treatment done last week. First it is painful which is why you take a valium before you get to the procedure and then they do give you two shots one of which is very painful.

I went home in the compression girdle feeling no pain. Of course I used my painkillers over the next few days along with a lot of Tylenol, three at a time.

The incisions heal up pretty well but there is a lot of bruising and swelling. I had upper and lower abdomen and sides done. With four live births I hoped to get rid of a lot.

The hardest part has been living in the compression girdle. It restricts your movement and really slows you down. It has taken me almost a week to sleep well at night. I am losing weight because you cannot eat big meals in a girdle. It will be a long time before I see results. Right now I just hope to feel like me again anytime soon. I paid $7,000 in US, which is the going rate.

Because this is such a new procedure, there is tons of advertising hype out there but very few real stories of experiences with Smart Lipo. If you have had this procedure, please also share your experiences here!

Well this woman had a completely different experience to me.
Mike commins at Hans Place, Knightsbridge gave an expectional service. He was gentle, reasuring and the whole experience was easy and very quick.
I certainly had no need for Valium.
Local Anesthetic was used and there was a small amount of discomfort. I got the train home after (1 hour journey) and was out driving my car the next day.
The compression garment was not restrictive and is the same technology as trinny and susanna pants.
No sleep issues, a bit of bruising and a couple of weeks later noticable results.
Even better is the fact the guy and all his staff had the treatment themselves which was very reasuring

Greetings everyone! I want to share with the whole world the GREAT experience I had with Dr.Darryl Blinski, in Miami. He is THE BEST, a true surgeon/artist! Last Monday (1/21) I had SmartLipo performed by him - with his incredible 18 Watt SmartLipo Unit! I am blessed I had the opportunity to get this cutting edge procedure done on me, 21st century! My SmartLipo: bilateral inner and outer thighs, anterior and medial knees and waist line. I also had blepharoplasty done on one of my upper eyelid.
I am very very very HAPPY with my results - they are BETTER than I imagined, and I know they will get better and better.
I highly recommend Dr. Blinski, besides being very talented, and having many YEARS of EXPERIENCE in the field of plastic surgery, he is generous, nice, an honest person and.... funny too! His staff is very friendly and sweet - they made me feel at home, specially when I woke up from the surgery. I really liked his anesthesiologist, he has many years of experience, a nice man. I felt safe and at ease before, during and after my surgery.
I am taking great care of myself - pre and post op. I am applying arnica gel and also taking homeopathy. I do like to use lavender and geranium essential oils for their anti-edema and antiseptic qualities. I am drinking lots of lemon water to help my lymphatic system, eating well and taking vitamins as well as chlorela (seaweed).
My eye look great, now they look the SAME! Today Dr. B removed my stitches.
I feel I had a great LIFE MAKEOVER, I am so much happier with myself.
If anyone is looking to have SmartLipo, it is worth to come to Miami and spend few days here - because you will be in great, professional hands.
Thanks, Dr. B
P.S. I don't work for him, I am just a satisfied patient!
Blessings and be well!

Please... Would anyne mind giving the names of "good" Smart Lipo and/or regular lipo Doctors. Pleassssse! I'm lost and when someone has good results from any type of lipo... they usually do not give the name of the doctors... I need help and I'm quite sure there are others that feel this way. I, like alot of others, seriously want lipo but I don't want to go through a horror story when it comes to my body and health. Would someone, anyone, help those of us who do not want to post a horror story... but instead good results to help out others. If anyone has experienced or knows of good doctors that give good results and focuses on good health as well, Please share it. Please.

I had smartlipo done 2 weeks yesterday. You wanted to know of a good doctor but don't know in what area. I got it done in Wheeling,WV by Dr. Mills. Very good experience and not painful. I see some results (1/2 inch) or so but he said that he is extremely happy by the way he did the checkup. He said in the next 2 months, it the fat will be gone just like I want it. So, go ahead and get it done if you were thinking about it. I was very scared and skeptical and had cold feet but am glad I made the move because there is no pain except the first shot. Even that is like going for blood work and needle.

How much was the Smart Lipo. I was thinking about callinghim and getting this done. Why does it take a couple months to see the results? Also about how much do you lose with this procedure? Do you only have it done once or do you have to keep going back?
