What Happens When You Use Botox for Many Years?

There's a slightly frightening comment by Dr. Aston about the risks of using Botox or other injectibles over a long time period. He's quoted in the Guardian as saying;

'I think for people that do it over and over, this is worrying... we have seen some of these people already. A lot of these injectibles were available in Europe, you know, about six years ago. So I've seen ladies now, who started at that time, who are having some skin changes.' His voice drops, as if he's predicting a major tragedy. 'And that's what's going to make us start to look very carefully at everybody who is showing the effect.'

I don't know who this Dr. Aston is, but I've never heard of harmful effects from long-term use of BOTOX. I work in plastic surgery, and I just don't understand why anyone would think that a company as big as Allergan (maker of BOTOX) would risk it's future by putting out a product with long-term health implications. To me, the biggest "risk" is that eventually injectable treatments may not be able to sufficiently correct the steady sagging of your skin, requiring a brow lift or face lift in Indianapolis or wherever it is you're from. BOTOX is safe and has been used to treat a variety of conditions for several decades.
