There's a serious warning out there now for any contact lens wearers who are using AMO Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose Solution to clean their lenses. Over 135 people have already gotten serious infections. This infection can lead to blindness.

People are being advised to immediately stop using the solution and to throw it away and switch to alternative products. They should also throw out their current contact lenses and even the lens storage cases because these may harbor the acanthamoeba parasite.

AMO is short for the company name; Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. ( NYSE: EYE) They are based in Santa Ana California but market their products in 60 countries. They have issued a global recall of this product.
