Barry Gibb Crashes the Wedding

Barry Gibb, age 60, of the Bee Gees was a guest on American Idol last night. Could Barry Gibb be a regular Botox user? His face looks smoother than it did over twenty years ago.

Here's a retro look from way, way back where he sings "Shine, Shine" at a wedding reception in 1984.

His guest appearance on American Idol has done wonders for the sales of Bee Gees CD's this week. Their Their Greatest HitsCD is ranked as the 24th best-selling item in the music section at Amazon today.

FIRST off, he's 60, not 50, so let's realize here that people DO age. He doesn't use botox or anything else. He's stopped smoking and is a vegetarian, so how about realizing a change in some habits CAN have something to do with a change in appearance?! I still think he looks great for 60. Also, you're claim of the above video being from a "wedding" is only partially right. The video is for the song " Shine Shine " from his " Now Voyager " solo LP. Barry didn't "crash a wedding reception". It helps to do RESEARCH before you write a story that's barely accurate.

First, let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of the Bee Gees. I have much respect for the Brothers Gibb. Arguably, Barry, Robin and Maurice are some of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. I possess all of their music and even saw them in concert in 1997 during their One Night Only show in Las Vegas. With that being said, I would like to make a comment based on what Barry'sCookieGirl wrote regarding Barry not using Botox and that his change in appearance is due to his quitting smoking and eating veggies. Now, I'm no expert but I doubt eating veggies and quitting a smoking habit would make these kind of changes to ones face. I, too, noticed that Barry's face did look different during the 1997 show in Vegas. I couldn't quite figure it out. He has definitely had some kind of work done to his eyes. If you look at him in the One For All tour in 1989, he has more wrinkles under his eyes. I can't put my finger on it but he has definitely had some kind of work done, be it surgery (face lift) or simple Botox work...perhaps even an eyebrow lift. He has less wrinkles now at 61 than he did at 41. Regardless of what work he's had done, he does look great and I still love and respect his music and all he has done for the industry. I look forward to many more years of great music from Barry and Robin. Rest in peace, Maurice...we all miss you!

thanks for the correction. I've edited this. I looked up his birth info on wikipedia but made a mistake adding up; he was born September 1st in 1946. He really does look great at 60. And I was just joking about him 'crashing the wedding'. I thought it would be quite obvious to anyone that this is a video to accompany the song and not a real wedding.

For many, many years Barry has suffered from very debilitating arthritis in his back. This is why over many years he does not tour or perform regularly. Because of his arthritis he takes prescribed steroids to aid his very serious condition. It's these steroids that give him (and all that use them) a puffy look. So it is the puffiness that has reduced his aged appearance and really nothing more.
