Anna Nicole Smith knew what she wanted at a very young age. Already as a teenager, her goal was to be the next Marilyn Monroe. In her earlier celeb bombshell status and in her early death, she met this wish.

Her childhood was very sad and difficult and she is remembered by her teachers as a sullen teenager who didn't smile much. (The above photo is her highschool picture in 1985, probably taken at the end of her school year in Grade 9.)

She's always been vilified for marrying a 90 year old billionaire but some of these critics could stop pretending that money prospects in marriage is not a common consideration for themselves or many other people. Was she not entitled to at least a small slice of her husbands' inheritance? He always looked so elated in their few public pictures together.

Here's two excerpts from the first column she wrote at the National Enquirer in April 2006 when she may have already known she was pregnant;

"Hi everybody. It's Anna Nicole. Welcome to my weekly column for the all new National Enquirer.

A couple months ago my lawyer was called by the paper's new editor, who wanted to talk to me about writing something. Was he kidding? The National Enquirer? Don't they always write bad stuff about me? I said no, but, like always, my lawyer wouldn't shut up. He said they wanted a celebrity who would speak their mind, tell it how it really is in the showbiz world. And they'd let me write whatever I want -- as long as it was from the heart. I could talk to my fans and those people who think I'm just a dumb blonde. I started to like the idea. But, me, with my own column? Nobody would believe I could do it. Everybody knows I'm not a writer. I can't even spell. But so what? I can talk. Someone else can type the words. And, after all, my husband always said I was the most street-smart person he ever met. So, why not? It sounded fun and I can definitely say it like it is. I said OK. So, what will I write about? Well, I got a lot going on right now. I got to keep that weight off -- I'll be telling you more about that. As you get to know me better, you'll realize I've got a lot to say about people I meet and what's in the news. Like me, or loathe me, all I ask is you give me a chance... I'm going to work really hard to make sure you love my column. And you're going to see things in here that you won't see anywhere else. Watch this space!"

And after a bit of gossip about other celebrities she goes on to say;

Wow! Go Demi! Go Ashton! Go age difference! Demi Moore is expecting again. I'm glad someone's getting some action. Demi is already a great mom and her boyfriend Ashton Kutcher will be a great dad. He's funny, he's young. But to be honest, I'm a little jealous. I want kids again, four more! How old are you, Demi? Tell me I still have a chance."

Anna Nicole Smith had picked up a false rumor about Demi Moore being pregnant. But her own pregnancy was surely on Smith's mind around that time. And now there is a rumor out there that her newborn daughter Danielynn was conceived with frozen sperm belonging to her billionaire ex-husband.

We'll likely be hearing much more about Anna Nicole Smith and her daughter Danielynn for many years to come.
