Rhihanna is the new CoverGirl

Singer Rihanna, 18, has just become the newest model for Cover Girl. She joins other celebrities who've gotten Cover Girl contracts including Queen Latifah, Molly Sims, Christie Brinkley and Keri Russell.

Her makeup ads were shot this month and will appear in a massive campaign over the next summer. How much is Cover Girl paying her? We don't know the details but her
producer says this contract "is of greater stature than her US$20 million deal with shoemakers, Nike."

Rihanna grew up with a mother who is a professional make-up artist. This must be a dream come true for her mother.

Rihanna says "I've loved makeup and dreamed of being a CoverGirl since I was a little girl. Growing up, my mother was a makeup artist and I was fascinated watching her apply lipcolor, blush and mascara. Now I get to be surrounded by all of my favorites from CoverGirl!"

Rihanna is beautiful! Her tropical accent is sexy and original. Thank you for adding her as a Cover Girl Model. She brings a new flair to your product line. Christie Brinkley sparked my interest in Cover Girl. Rihanna has sparked my daughters interest. It's a new day and Cover Girl will not be left in the dust!

I just saw her Covergirl commercial today, and while she looks fine on the commercial, the sound of her voice on the voiceover is like nails raking down a chalkboard.
I've never been that crazy about her singing, but her speaking voice is definitely not one that can sell products. She could use a good voice coach (for diction and tone). Her narration nearly ruined the commercial for me. Hopefully she'll get better in time.
