Two brothers who are both cosmetic surgeons have written a new book. It's The Viels' Beauty Bible
and it will be published at the end of this month. The Daily Mail interviewed them and here's what they have to say about dermal fillers;
We say: A very effective, safe treatment. We particularly like Hydra Fill, a new biodegradable hyaluronic acid-based implant that is injected directly into the skin to restore or preserve a youthful looking appearance. It is particularly effective for reducing nose to mouth grooves, frown lines and other depressed scars. It’s also a godsend for enhancing narrow lip.
The filler is injected into the area that needs filling or plumping, literally plumping out the line or area. Each surgeon has their own preference but most tend to use hyaluronic fillers like Hydra Fill, Restylane, Perlane, Hylaform, Juvederm, Rofilan, or AcHyal because of the excellent results.
Good for crow’s feet; forehead lines; lines around the mouth; smile lines, nose to mouth lines, smoothing chin and cheek contours, smoothing wrinkles on the hands. Skin depressions and some scars. Increasing the volume of the lips.
A local anaesthetic is given. A fine needle injects the filling material along or around the area to be treated. Different products are injected into different layers of the skin.
When will I see results? Immediately but for best results emerge when swelling subsides in one or two days.
How long will it last? Between six months and two years (for best results you will need repeat injections – again from six monthly to every two years).
Any side-effects? There may be some initial swelling and bruising. Complications are infrequent but can include infection, allergic reaction, abscesses, open sores, skin peeling, bruising, scarring and lumpiness.
