Britney Spears made a short surprise appearance on the David Letterman Show in New York yesterday. She made no mention of the fact that on this same day court papers were filed in Los Angeles for a divorce from her husband of two years.

Before Spears turns 25 this December she will be a young divorced mother with two babies and possibly the largest self-made fortune ever of any female in their mid 20's.
