Deborah Harry, better known as Blondie, was born in 1945. Last week, at the age of 61, she played a special good-bye show at a famous punk-rock venue in New York City (the CBGB) which closes this month. The CBGB was the launching pad for Blondie back in the 1970's.

Blondie was a wildly popular band in the 1970's and 80's. Their hits include Call Me, Tide is High, and One Way or Another. Blondie is in the Guinness World Book of Records record as the "Oldest Female Singer to Reach No. 1 in the UK Chart." This happened when she went to number one with Maria in 1999 at the age of 53.
