Her husband didn't think they could afford to have a second child but made a deal with her that if she could sell a play then they could go ahead and have a second baby. Sharman MacDonald was soon successful in selling a play, and Kiera was born in 1985. Since then, Sharman MacDonald,55, has become a noted playwright and novelist.
