Jenny Lee's Plastic Surgery Addiction

Submitted by Meg Wilson on May 24, 2006 - 14:31.

Jenny Lee is addicted to plastic surgery. She's had thirty plastic surgery procedures and she is only 31 years old. On her site she notes that this is less than it sounds as each area that has been liposuctioned counts as one, each shot in the nose or botox injection is also counted as one procedure.

Jenny explains on her website that she's discovered she has body dysmorphic disorder (BBD).

Ok Jenny,

I like your hair, it's very nice and ironed and all, but all this plastic surgery has done you no good. I mean, a major element of beauty is symmetry and you've completely unbalanced your body with huge boobs. You look extremely unproportional. I find it obvious that all this surgery has not made you feel better about your appearance because you still continue to do it. Can you even run anymore? I think boobs that large would hurt your back. I can't imagine living without being able run when I feel like it.

I'm not going to say that plastic surgery is bad and evil and one should just accept what they were born with. But I do think that plastic surgery should be done in moderation. Like seriously, too much of a good thing often leads to bad things. Like it's fine to eat ice cream once in a while, but eating wayyy too much of it is no good, same with this surgery business.

-Best of Luck

I see Jenny Lee feels the need to fight back when people say that she looks freakish or plastic. I understand that. If she didn't feel that her looks equaled her worth as a person she wouldn't have done this to herself. Each comment about how far away from natural she looks is a knife to her soul. Ironic since she continues to carve herself like a piece of meat. All she wants to hear as a result of going public is the self-affirming messages that stream in about how she's so much more than the plasticized image than she portrays. How she has children and is a daughter and human being. How we see through it all to her genuine soul. All true, but it doesn't change that fact that she has mutilated herself with the sliced, carved, masked casing that has become her physical self. The positive comments give her just enough confidence to keep going on this destructive path. I hope, hope, hope she finds her way to stopping before these unnecessary surgeries kill her and her kids are motherless. She must be close to flipping the odds with the danger of going under anesthesia so many times. It's a desperate endless cycle. She wants her critics to supply pictures, and it just goes to show that she thinks that the value of what they say can't be judged until she sees what they look like. It's further proof that the ultimate value to her is some external judgment of worth based on looks. It just shows how she completely misses the point.

Jenny Lee:
I just wanted to say that I truly hope that you are seeking regular psychological counselling for your BDD. I understand that it is difficult to love your appearance as a woman, especially with the way that the media portrays women. That's why you have to find a way to love yourself exactly as you are. I think that if you can seek counselling, you will be truly surprised at how beautiful you can feel. Because true beauty is not about appearance, it's what's in your heart. Also, I feel concerned at the message you will be sending to your child about appearances.

Anyone who admits to numerous surgeries, goes on Oprah to annouce them has to accept that people are going to coment, whether good or bad. No one is hiding behind a computer making comments. This site promotes comments, so people are going to write them.
Obviously Jenny feels she looks good, which is most important. I personally, think she looks plastic.
She is too young to have had so much work done. She looks like Joan Rivers. You really can't tell how old she is, and if I dodn't know how old she was I would assume she was in her 50's. Most people in their early 30's don't look like Joan Rivers.
I do not think anyone on here who is commenting negatively is jealous. There are other people who are far more good looking to be jealous of.
It really seems that she is extremely desperate to look good but is never ultimately happy with how she looks.
Look what happened to Jocelyn Wildenstein.

I think the look is good. A little engineered, but she is very pretty. Of course, I am a man, here, so the wild curves Jenny has appeal to me, and probably most men out there. I honestly don't know why people below would say such horrible things. Must be the ugly people out there (ugly inside, and maybe out as well). From a man's perspective, if I was your husband/boyfriend I would ask you not to do anymore, though. There is only so much a physician's knife can do before it starts to look very fake. That is when it starts to become NOT beautiful. Not a woman, but Michael Jackson has disfigured himself by going overboard on cosmetic surgery. At least don't let a doctor touch your face anymore. Don't listen to those who trash on you. You do look great.

TO be honest i saw your pic and i thouht wow she looks good my boyfriend said he thought you didnt look great as he prefers natural beautys.
The thing is you were a natural beauty and didnt need the surgery . However your overall look is very glamourous . I suffer with bdd too and only the lack of money is stopping me from haveing the surgery i want . Im sure your look draws alot of attention good and bad.

I love to read blogs about me on the internet. People hide behind their computer, they wrote anonyomous things, judging me, and talking about things and issues they know nothing about. Not once have I seen a picture of these poster's to go with their comments. Everyone says to me, producers, directors, PR people, my friends, family...that "these peope" who write these mean things are jealous, ignorant, or just plain uneducated. Otherwise, they would say would choose not to be a coward and write you a message on your myspace page. I think if you feel that you have the RIGHT to pass judgement on me, and feel that you hold the same degree as GOD, at least say what you have to say to me personally...I give you avenues to do so. If not, then you are simply to me and eveyone else a coward. I don't judge you thought. Forgive those for they do not know what they do. Don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for you!

Oh, the poor, poor thing! Sweet lord, what did she do to herself... she must have suffered so much. I really hope that she finally found some peace in herself.

How would you like for someone to tell you that you look disgusting? Attach a picture of yourself. Don't hide behind a computer and say mean things. Look at my site darlin....it is classy. There are no horse teeth. Just perfect ones. I think it is sad for you to lower yourelf to a standard that would allow you to think these mean things, let alone write them. You should be ashamed of yourself.

What I saw on your admittedly classy website was a person who has truly passed the point of no return on their appearance. I wish you well in fighting the emotional battle that you so obviously are. Perfection is going to be further and further from your reach as you sink into the abyss that your mind and insecurities have created for you. You may find this mean, but I take no pleasure in saying the words, just a calm sense of pity.
